A Plywood Wardrobe (with all of the drawers)

A bespoke plywood wardrobe in a loft extension in a Somerset home.

What I love about this design is the three top carcasses over the four columns of drawers - a request from the customer that, to be honest, I wasn’t entirely convinced would look great when I started the design. Shows what I know - turns out it was a great was to preserve symmetry whilst breaking up the lines a bit. That means that instead of a plain, regular wall of cupboards, you’ve got a wardrobe that politely catches your eye and provokes interest.

Drawers for days.

Drawers for days.

If you live in a modern house, lack of built-in storage is frequently a problem - I could go on a diatribe about housing developers penny-pinching, but that’s something for another day and another blog. Bespoke fitted furniture is the best solution of course, and being able to tailor things to your own needs is a true luxury.

Drawers were the order of the day here, twelve of them, glorious, soft-close, concealed fittings, oiled inside and out.

We were really pleased with how this turned out. It really enhances the room, and provides a huge amount of useful storage space.
